Local 4-H Clubs Visit Residents at The Village at Heritage Point

Posted Date: 3/26/2024
The residents at The Village at Heritage Point received a welcomed visit by WVU Collegiate 4-H Club and Monongalia County 4-H Teen Leaders for a 4-H camp sing-along.

Campers sang both fast and slow songs for the residents, many of which have been sung at 4-H camps for generations, inviting residents to join in and sing along.

4-H is the largest youth development program in the United States. 4-H focuses on the four-fold development of head, heart, hands, and health through youth-led service, social, and promotional activities.

“It was such a nice evening to join with the residents and sing 4-H songs,” said Josie Tanton, Monongalia County 4-H Teen Leader. “I always love sharing my love for 4-H and I really enjoyed seeing the joy and happiness when we sang our songs for them. I really hope we get to visit with them again.”

Alicia Thomas, resident at the village for nearly five years and former 4-H agent for 15 years and club leader especially enjoyed the sing along visit from the local 4-H campers. The campers took such a strong liking to the former 4-H camper that they wanted to come back for a visit and donate a quilt to her.

The handmade quilt was beautifully adorned with 4-H greens and whites. The campers also brought along some matching pillows for the resident.
