Two Mon Health Medical Center Registered Nurses Named Champions of Care

Posted Date: 3/27/2024
Mon Health Medical Center is pleased to announce that David Belcher, RN, and Maggie Burhan, RN, have been named Champions of Care by WV Living Magazine.

Belcher and Burhan were each selected from a pool of RN nominees from healthcare systems across the state as individuals who are compassionate and dedicated healthcare workers.

Belcher has worked at Mon Health Medical Center since May of 2019. He currently keeps the operating room running smoothly as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, collaborating with all members of the care team to facilitate patient surgeries. His coworkers describe him as a humble man who doesn’t ask anyone to do something that he wouldn’t do himself, and someone who works well with others to meet the needs of both patients and staff.

Burhan has worked at Mon Health Medical Center since October of 2019. She is a hard worker and someone who her fellow nurses describe as encouraging, supportive, and kind to everyone she meets. Burhan says that while she has some hard days being a nurse, she has never once regretted her career choice because of the opportunity she has each day to make a positive impact in someone’s life.

Vandalia Health is proud to announce that nurses from both CAMC and David Health System were also named Champions of Care alongside Mon Health Medical Center’s nominees. The Champions of Care of Vandalia Health are Jessica Luff, Broaddus Hospital, Davis Memorial Hospital; Mackenzie Casto, CAMC Women and Children's Hospital; Audrey Skeen, CAMC Memorial Hospital; Melissa Miller, CAMC Outpatient Surgery.
